Poll Results & Impact: Recent Taliban advance through Afghanistan
We asked you:
“Has the recent Taliban advance through Afghanistan been the reason for any personal reflection or sadness?”
3,315 people said Yes. (75%)
1,298 people said No. (25%)
The purpose of this poll was to be a part of the national conversation that is currently taking over the media: US Troops leaving Afghanistan. The results of this poll were published in a Fox News op-ed and were referenced on-air.
The team at Mission Roll Call believes that it’s important to share the perspective of all those who were or are involved in the U.S. military, especially on a topic that ruminates so deeply for many of us.
For those people who said yes, we want you to know that you are not alone. The withdrawal of U.S troops from Afghanistan has personally affected each and every one of us at Mission Roll Call, as well as many others in the veteran community.
It’s okay to experience it, reflect on it, and maybe even be confused as to how you feel about it. There’s no one way to respond to such news.
Please know that we appreciate your honesty and the time taken to complete our poll. Your actions do have meaning, and even though it may seem like a small task, it impacts people (just like you) in ways that you don’t know. There will be more polls coming out on a monthly basis and it’s critical that we get your perspective, so please keep making your voice heard.
