SGT Carlos Lopez
Service Story
Sgt. Carlos S. Lopez Jr. combat veteran served in the US Army 37 months in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. Shortly, after 9/11 attacks, Lopez deployed to combat as a Chemical Specialist. Searching for understanding after war, Carlos leaned on theater arts including acting and directing and created the award winning film, “PTSD An American Tragedy” using himself and other veterans to tell the story of PTSD and how it effects the combat veterans lives. In his art, he carried a message to expose the after war fatalities of 22 veterans a day take their lives. Debut at the PJIFilm Festival.
