(Military.com) – The controversial Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (TCAVA) is scheduled to be voted on Thursday morning, with one prominent Veterans Service Organization (VSO) saying that roughly 7-in-10 of its members want to see the sweeping legislation pass Congress.

Mission Roll Call is a VSO that has supported the TCAVA and—along with more than 20 other VSOs—”urged” Congress to push it through both chambers to become a reality. On Wednesday, the organization released its latest internal member survey finding that 71% of veterans support the bill, while only 11% oppose it. There were 1,058 respondents across all 50 states.

“I think in many cases, veterans are getting information from the organizations that they follow, and sometimes that information doesn’t have everything that they need to make an informed decision,” Jim Whaley, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and CEO of Mission Roll, told Military.com. “That’s all we’re trying to do here, is provide information so veterans can make informed decisions and provide them the information that they need to make those decisions.
