“there’s not a lot that’s stronger than the heart of a volunteer, which is why the American military is so good. We tend to treat our people better and pay them more than militaries across the world. But if people don’t believe that they’re going to be taken care of while they’re on active duty and mothers and fathers don’t believe that their sons and daughters are going to be taken care of when they get off active duty, they’re not going to support them joining the military.”
