This week, the Veterans Benefits Continuity and Accountability Supplemental Appropriations Act passed both chambers of Congress on a bipartisan basis, expediting the $2.9 billion needed to ensure there is no lapse in disability compensation or education benefits for many of our nation’s veterans.

Mission Roll Call appreciates the urgency both chambers of Congress showed in addressing this problem, which speaks to their respect and admiration for our veterans’ service. We further applaud the inclusion of accountability measures to improve future budget forecasting and reporting requirements to Congress, decreasing the likelihood that bureaucratic mismanagement at the VA will affect veteran benefits in the future. We urge President Biden to sign this legislation as soon as possible.
