First Sergeant Timothy La Sage honorably served over 22 years in the United States Marine Corps. He earned two Purple Heart medals for combat wounds, two valor medals, and two additional medals for lifesaving actions. His career included assignments with an Anti-Terrorism unit, a Marine Raider Special Operations small boat unit that deployed with SEAL Team 5 after September 11, 2001, and a Joint Task Force supporting Operation Geronimo in 2011 alongside SEAL Team 6.
