MSG Sylvia King
Service Story
MSG Sylvia King served as a military policeman from October 1982 – April 2003. She received 43 awards and decorations, including 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 11 Army Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Ribbon. She was deployed to Somalia with the 984th Military Police Company and later to Cuba with the same unit, where she was awarded the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal. She later served as a drill sergeant at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She retired with honors in 2003 after 21 years of service.
