SGT Phelps honorably served in the United States Army with courage, discipline, and devotion to his fellow soldiers. In 2023, while deployed to Syria as a Specialist, he was injured in a suicide drone strike while manning a tower at Mission Support Site Euphrates, alongside then-Corporal Cochran, who was also wounded. This moment reflects both the dangers faced by our servicemembers and the strength required to endure them. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, Phelps has continued to embody the Army values of loyalty, duty, and selfless service. His resilience and faith remain an inspiration to all who know him.
